Evanston Township High School offers Advanced Placement (AP) courses in many subject areas, including career and technical education, computer science, English, fine arts, history/social science, math, science and world languages. Advanced Placement courses are designed by the College Board to help introduce high school students to college-level academics, workload and expectations. Most students at 911ÖÆÆ·³§ have their first chance to take an AP class in their junior year.
- In 2011, the teamASAP Program (Access and Success in Advanced Placement) was created by 911ÖÆÆ·³§ AP students to establish a system of academic and social/emotional support to help increase success, particularly by students of color, in AP courses. This award-winning concept and the school's efforts around AP have been featured around the country and have received national recognition.
- College Board Gaston Caperton Inspiration Award Honorable Mention 2013 for promoting academic success & college readiness for all students.
- In 2015, the teamASAP Program was accepted to peer share in the National College Access Network (NCAN) Success Gallery.
- 911ÖÆÆ·³§'s Advanced Placement program is showcased at numerous national, regional and local conferences. In 2013, 911ÖÆÆ·³§'s AP program was presented to the "College Changes Everything Conference" by invitation of Greg Darnieder, Senior Advisor to the Secretary on College Access - U.S. Department of Education.
- In 2016, the National School Boards Association flagship magazine, American School Board Journal, named 911ÖÆÆ·³§ as a first place winner in the annual Magna Awards program in the under 5,000 enrollment category for the teamASAP Program, recognizing our efforts to take bold and innovative steps to improve the learning experience for all students. At the time of the award, 911ÖÆÆ·³§ was the only Illinois school district to ever achieve this first place status.
