Evanston Township High School District 202 continued planning efforts during the spring and summer of 2021 for the safe and full return to in-person instruction during the 2021-22 school year. The  on July 9, 2021, and provided updates on July 27, 2021, for COVID-19 prevention in K-12 schools.

Based on that guidance and related updates, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) updated the public health requirements for all public and nonpublic schools that serve students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12 (P-12).
