The Hub - Student Success Center
-
Nicknamed “The Hub,” the Student Success Center at 911ÖÆÆ·³§ serves as a one-stop shop that fosters interactive learning and collaboration by providing students with a central location to access programs, facilities, and services. The mission of the 911ÖÆÆ·³§ Student Success Center is to maintain an accessible, inclusive and purposeful environment that provides a variety of student-centered services and supports, including:
College & Career Services. College and career resources and services are available for current students, parents/guardians, and alumni. The Hub houses an extensive collection of college and career reference materials, ACT/SAT/AP/ASVAB exam review books, and hosts nearly 300 college and career representatives each year. Computers are available for students to research careers, colleges and scholarships; complete applications, interest inventories and resumes; and compose essays. Staff is available for student walk-ins and appointments for supplemental counseling services, assistance completing applications, essays and resumes, and understanding the financial aid process. For complete information visit the College & Career Services page.
Community Service Office. The Community Service Office provides students with personal, one-on-one assistance in identifying service and leadership opportunities in the community as well as within 911ÖÆÆ·³§ that suit student schedules, personal goals, skill sets, and interests. Meaningful service benefits our community as well as our students. Many college, scholarship, and employment applications ask students to write about their volunteer experiences or their community involvement because it is understood that such experiences are significant to the development of young people. Additionally, Freshman, Sophomore and National Honor Societies as well as some 911ÖÆÆ·³§ classes require community service. Students can find more information about service opportunities on the Community Service page.
Student Activities Office. The Student Activities Office oversees the coordination of 911ÖÆÆ·³§ student clubs and organizations, student government, and school-wide student events such as homecoming, spirit weeks, performances, and dances. Students in all grade levels are encouraged to visit The Hub to get involved in clubs and activities.
Youth Job Center Office. The Youth Job Center (YJC) of Evanston has an office at 911ÖÆÆ·³§ to help students find immediate part-time or seasonal jobs, and develop job-readiness skills. Visit the YJC Office to find out more about job placement and training, or to obtain a work permit.
Wildkit Academy (Saturday Academic Support Program). Wildkit Academy is a free academic support program available to all current 911ÖÆÆ·³§ students (grades 9-12) on select Saturdays throughout the regular school year. During Wildkit Academy, teachers and staff provide academic support in a variety of content areas. SAT test prep and college and career planning services are available at each session.
