Library and Media Services

  • Central Library

Central Library is the place for students to get work done. We are open before school at 7:30am Monday through Friday, and after school until 6:30pm Tuesday through Thursday. We are always happy to help students with projects and research questions, and assist with homework. Central houses non-fiction books as well as an extensive reference collection. We have archived periodicals in both print and microfilm. There is also a classroom in the Reference Room for teacher use.

Donations: If you are interested in inquiring about a possible donation to the 911ÖÆÆ·³§ Libraries, please contact the library team at ethslibrarians@eths202.org. Someone will respond to your inquiry directly and set up a time to discuss if the donation is suitable for the 911ÖÆÆ·³§ collection and current curricula.

    East Library

East Library is the place to go when looking for fiction, short stories, graphic novels, and manga. We also have ample reference and non-fiction books and materials, with a special emphasis on poetry and biography/memoir. We are more than happy to help you with your reference and research questions and with book selection. East Library has many study carrels and two study rooms available for both student and staff use, and is home to the Reading Room, a quiet, comfortable reading spot that is available for class use by teacher online reservation. We also house a growing 911ÖÆÆ·³§ Alumni Collection of over 800 titles that have been donated by many of our 911ÖÆÆ·³§ Alumni.

Both libraries provide access to a variety of databases for research purposes in school and at home. The databases allow students to search full-text articles from popular magazines and journals covering areas of general interest and for research purposes. Students can find full text access to historical and current academic journals and primary sources in arts, sciences, humanities, social sciences, and civics just to name a few. Students can even search contents for hundreds of online literary reference books for information about authors and criticism of their works.

South Technology Center (STC) and Media Center (Lab G)

The South Technology Center (STC) is the main computer lab for Evanston Township High School. Featuring five computer labs and over 150 computers, the STC and Media Center staff works with teachers and students by offering access and support to core computing resources such as Microsoft Office and web tools including Google Apps for Education. Each computer lab contains a projector and the center features a KitPrint release station.

Featuring both MAC and Windows computer labs, the STC and Media Center are the places to go for projects that require desktop computers and/or the use of audio/video recording, editing, and producing. The Media Center is the location for staff checkout of items such as videos, projector carts, document cameras, and other audio/visual items. The staff works with both teachers and students on incorporating media into classroom projects. There is also a drop-in computer lab available for students who are not in a class during their unscheduled time.
