South Technology Center (STC)
The South Technology Center (STC) is the main computer lab for Evanston Township High School. Featuring six computer labs and over 200 computers, the STC staff works with teachers and students by offering access and support to core computing resources such as Microsoft Office and web tools including Google Apps for Education. Each computer lab also contains a projector and one lab features a SMART Board that can be used by classes. There is also a drop-in computer lab often available for students who are not in a class during their unscheduled time.
LAB A LAB AInstructional Classroom Layout
Full desktop studio with 26 computers & a project/collaboration area. Desktops are arranged around the perimeter of the studio with tables in the center for group projects and/or other collaborative activities. This multi-purpose space allows some students to work independently while others work together on a project or collaboratively with a teacher/instructor.LAB BTraditional Instructional Classroom Layout
Full desktop studio with 30 computers. Lab B has a traditional classroom layout with rows of computers with a teacher station at the front. This space is ideal for teacher-centered instruction with all students having access to a desktop computer.LAB CCollaborative LayoutFull desktop studio with 30 computers. Lab C is designed to promote collaboration and is the best setting for small group work. Each computer workstation grouping can accommodate 4-6 students.LAB DBYOD: Bring Your Own Device StudioLab D is equipped with 20 desktops for use in conjunction with student Chromebooks. Desktops are available to supplement any shortage of student-owned devices or to offer students a variety of device options to work on.
