TalkingPoints FAQs

  • Am I required to use TalkingPoints? TalkingPoints is the only district-approved texting platform. While 911ÖÆÆ·³§ encourages families to use TalkingPoints, it is not required. Email is the primary method of communication with families and students. 

    Is TalkingPoints free to use? Yes, TalkingPoints is free for families and students. There is no cost to send or receive messages. Note: Standard messaging and data rates may apply based on your mobile plan.

    Do I need to download the TalkingPoints app in order to receive messages? No, you do not need to download the app in order to use TalkingPoints. You can receive and respond to messages via SMS text. However, if you prefer using the app, it is available to download for free. Please make sure your contact information is up-to-date in HAC.

    What if I don’t want to receive text messages from 911ÖÆÆ·³§? You may opt out of receiving text messages at any time by sending a text message back with the word ‘LEAVE.’ 

    How does the translation work? Messages are automatically translated based on your preferred language in our school records. TalkingPoints supports over 150 languages. If your language is not included, please contact communications@eths202.org, and we’ll work to find the best solution for you.

    Is TalkingPoints secure? Yes, all communications through TalkingPoints are private and secure. Your contact information will only be used for school communication.

    Will my student also receive text messages directly? Yes, authorized staff, such as teachers, coaches, and sponsors, can send text messages to students, but students must opt-in to TalkingPoints to receive these messages.
