Health Protocols 2021-22

  • Masking and Distancing

On August 4, 2021 Illinois Governor JB Pritzker announced masks are required for students, teachers, and staff at pre-kindergarten-12th grade schools. The public health guidance from the  and  had also previously recommended universal indoor masking for all teachers, staff, students, and visitors to K-12 schools, regardless of vaccination status.

The mask requirement is inclusive of youth sports and activities, with masks required for all indoor extracurriculars and sports. In line with CDC guidance, masks are not required for activities outdoors where transmission risks and rates are lower.

The CDC recommends at least 3 feet of physical distance between students within classrooms, but not if this would be a barrier to in-person learning. Effective August 16, instructional and other spaces will return to full capacity, with 3 feet of physical distance whenever possible. Physical distancing will not be possible in all spaces in the 911ÖÆÆ·³§ building or campus. This is one of the reasons why vaccination is strongly encouraged for all students and staff.

  • Vaccination

Vaccination is strongly encouraged; however, it is not required. As 911ÖÆÆ·³§ returns to typical operations, unvaccinated individuals are not protected. Once a person is vaccinated, they have the highest level of protection.

During the summer of 2021, 911ÖÆÆ·³§ requested proof of COVID vaccination for all students enrolled during the 2021-22 school year. For more information, visit the Proof of COVID Vaccination page.
