Writing Center (Writing/English & History Center)

  • The Academic Study Centers located in The Hub (W201) are staffed with teachers who can help with homework or concepts related to the courses taught in their departments. Study Center teachers can help with questions from homework, class notes, textbooks, practice quizzes, and practice tests. Study Center teachers can’t help with take-home tests, take-home quizzes, or anything else that will be submitted for a quiz or test grade.

Students with questions or in need of academic support can come on a drop-in basis before school, during their unscheduled periods, lunch periods, or study halls. Most Study Centers are open after school until 4:00pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. No appointments are necessary.

What to Expect: Writing Center (Writing/English & History Center)

The Writing Center teachers provide a welcoming atmosphere for students needing extended academic support in writing, English, history and social sciences.

Students often come to the Writing Center to get help with writing, have their English and history-related questions answered by knowledgeable teachers, finish homework and form study groups. English and history textbooks and other course-related material are available in the center.
