Purpose
The Safe Center for Online Learning (SCOL) is a designated and supervised space for students to remotely and virtually engage in Enhanced E-Learning. The SCOL offers a quiet space with reliable internet for students during live learning school hours, Tuesdays-Fridays. Students are able to voluntarily utilize the SCOL while maintaining social distance and adhering to all other health and safety guidelines in place.
Hours of Operation
Tuesdays/Thursdays (Orange): 8:00 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. (students must arrive by 8:45 a.m. for 1st period, which begins at 9:00 a.m.)
Wednesdays/Fridays (Blue): 7:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (students in period 0/early bird classes must arrive by 7:00 a.m. All other students must arrive by 8:45 a.m. for 6th period, which begins at 9:00 a.m.)

Who can register for the SCOL?
The SCOL is available to all students who want to engage in their enhanced e-learning from 911ÖÆÆ·³§. Students must be COVID-19 and symptom-free and clear the school’s COVID-19 screening protocol.

How do I register for the SCOL?
Students can register to attend the SCOL by clicking on the following link:. Students can register for the remainder of the second semester by completing the form one time. Students may also register each week by completing the form by 3:00 p.m. on Friday to be scheduled to attend the SCOL the following week.

How will attendance be taken at the SCOL?
Students must have their physical ID card or digital ID card via. Students will scan into the SCOL each day for attendance and potential contact tracing.

When is the SCOL open?
The SCOL hours are:

Can I attend SCOL one or two days a week instead of for the whole week?
In order to support students’ needs within the current health and safety guidelines, 911ÖÆÆ·³§ is requiring that students register by the week and not accepting daily requests. Students can register for the rest of the semester by selecting “all weeks” on the registration form.

Can I attend SCOL for just the morning or afternoon rather than the entire school day?
Due to the limited amount of break/transition time in the live learning schedule, 911ÖÆÆ·³§ is requiring that students register for the entire school day and not offering 1/2 day (AM or PM) enrollments. Students may leave the SCOL at any time, but, once they leave, they will not be allowed to return that day.

Can I leave school to get lunch (or for any other reason) and come back during the school day?
Students can leave the SCOL at any time (at a natural break such as the end of a period), but once students leave the SCOL and 911ÖÆÆ·³§’s campus, they will not be allowed to return to the SCOL for the day. Students may return after the school day for other clubs/activities/sports/etc.

Will food be provided at the SCOL?
Yes, 911ÖÆÆ·³§ will provide breakfast, lunch, and a snack during the school day. Students may bring their own food as well. Students will not be allowed to leave the SCOL or school building to get food. Eating in the SCOL will occur at scheduled times and under the current health and safety guidelines.

Will teachers be available for academic support/tutoring during the school day?
The SCOL provides a space in the building for students to engage in their Enhanced E-learning. There will not be teachers or other staff members available to provide academic support/tutoring during the school day. Teachers will be conducting their Enhanced E-learning at the same time, so they will be unavailable.
Students can access virtual academic supports while attending the SCOL. Students can access the virtual Academic Study Center by visiting the page of the 911ÖÆÆ·³§ website.

If I am registered to attend SCOL, will I be able to access AM Support in person in the building?
No. AM Support will continue to be virtual/remote. The SCOL will be open during AM Support time, but students will still access it remotely.

What do I need to bring with me to the SCOL?
Students must bring their student ID (or digital ID via), charged Chromebooks, chargers, and earbuds/headphones every day. Students should also bring any and all materials and supplies they need to engage in their enhanced e-learning classes. Under the current health and safety guidelines, extra or shared supplies and materials will not be available to students.
Students may also bring food and water to the SCOL. Students should bring their own water bottles or a refillable water bottle each day. Water filler stations will be available, but traditional water fountains will not due to the current health and safety guidelines.

Will I be able to store belongings in my hallway locker?
No. Under the current health and safety guidelines, lockers will not be used.

What requirements are in place while I attend the SCOL?
In addition to all the policies and rules in The Pilot, students must also wear a mask/face covering at all times (except when actively eating during a scheduled time), keep at least 6 feet of distance, follow all directional and spacing signs and guidelines in the room and the hallways, and pass the COVID-19 screening daily. Students who cannot follow these guidelines will not be able to access the SCOL and will continue their enhanced e-learning at home.
